Ranbir Kapoor confesses “certain scenes” of Brahmastra remind him of late father Rishi Kapoor’s cancer treatment

Last year turned out to be the most eventful year of Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor’s life with multiple happy news. He not only tied the knot with his lady love Alia Bhatt and welcomed their first child Raha Kapoor, but also delivered one of the biggest commercial successes of the year with Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva. With the amount of time invested in the Ayan Mukerji directorial, it won’t be wrong to say that Ranbir must have numerous memories from its shoot. Speaking of one such, Ranbir recently revealed that Brahmastra reminds him of his late father and actor Rishi Kapoor’s cancer treatment days. It all happened during his conversation with PTI, when Kapoor asserted, “When my father was suffering from cancer and was going through his treatment, I was working on Brahmastra and Shamshera at that time. When I see Brahmastra now, there are amazing memories, but there are certain scenes I see and I get reminded of moments... like 'Oh! At this time, he was having chemotherapy or he was on a ventilator.’” In the same interview, RK further added, “The biggest thing that happens in an individual's life is when you lose one of your parents. That really is something... Especially when you're nearing your 40s, that's the time when something like this usually happens... Nothing prepares you for that, but it brings the family closer. It makes you understand life.” Coming to the professional front, the 40-year-old actor is currently busy promoting his upcoming release, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. The rom-com, slated to release on March 8, stars Shraddha Kapoor as the leading lady. Meanwhile, comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi and producer Boney Kapoor will be making their acting debut with TJMM. Besides this, he also has Animal opposite Rashmika Mandanna in his kitty. Produced by T-Series, Bhadrakali Pictures and Cine1 Studios and directed by Arjun Reddy fame Sandeep Reddy Vanga, it will release in August this year.
