ZEE is bringing back the biggest celebration of Kanjoos Makhichoos. The comedy-drama is written and directed by Vipul Mehta and stars Kunal Kemmu, Shweta Tripathi, Piyush Mishra, Alka Amin, Rajiv Gupta, and the late Raju Srivastav in prominent roles. It is an intriguing comedic drama about Jamnaprasad Pandey (Kunal Kemmu), who is known throughout the town of Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, as a miser. Kanjoos Makhichoos, according to producer Kushagra Sharma, is a fresh concept and an assured rib-tickling comedy film for the viewers. The film also carries an important message alongside its lighthearted humour. The skilled cast Kunal Kemmu, Shweta Tripathi, and Piyush Mishra have done a fantastic job in making it a family entertainer. I am confident that the audience will love viewing it. Kushagra Sharma remembers working with legendary comedian Raju Srivastava. He said, "Raju Srivastava sir was both a fantastic actor and a great human being. Inspite of his being such an influential politician, whenever he came to set for shoot, he used to let go of his security gunman and used to say, I am an actor on the set, not a politician. Working with him was an incredible experience; he was so grounded that he used to invite us into his vanity and make us laugh with his jokes, and his presence on the set made the entire environment light and cheerful. His comic timing and performance in the film are unrivalled; it was an honour to have him among us. We all miss him, and I am sure he is in a better place, blessing us.” Thundersky Entertainment (founded by Kushagra Sharma and Srishti Sharma, two young and creative minds) is producing the film 'Kanjoos Makkhichoos,' which will premiere on the OTT platform ZEE5 on March 24th, 2023.
