Prabhudeva reveals he choreographed ‘Main Aisa Kyun Hoon’ in one hour; gives “full credit” to Hrithik Roshan

Bollywood fans were in for a treat when dance legend Prabhudeva and actor Hrithik Roshan came together for the song ‘Main Aisa Kyun Hoon’ for the film Lakshya. The song, which was originally released in 2004, has been a fan favourite for years, thanks to its catchy beat, memorable lyrics, and electrifying dance moves of Hrithik Roshan. Recently, while talking about the same, Prabhudeva revealed that he completed the entire choreography of that song in just an hour.

It all happened during his interaction with O2india. Prabhudheva shared that director Farhan Akhtar had booked his dates a year ahead and the choreographer was taken aback when he saw the intricate planning that went into the shoot. Speaking of Hrithik’s performance, Prabhudeva asserted, “Hrithik was magical. Shankar Mahadevan’s composition was fantastic. As I kept listening to it, it kept growing on me. That was the unique quality of that song. Full credit must be given to Hrithik. Whatever I did, looked nice on screen. He was too good.”

The ABCD actor recalled, “We did the entire choreography within one hour. The song was so inspiring. I could visualize the song perfectly in my mind. I only had to execute it for the camera. We blocked it for one hour. Nobody would believe me. I am saying this on record for the first time. I did it in one hour.”

Having said that, it is worth mentioning here that the song earned him his second National Film Award for Best Choreography.

As the conversation progressed further, he also recalled working with a non-Indian cinematographer and called it a “unique experience”. For the unversed, the film’s cinematography was handled by Christopher Popp.

Prabhudheva said, “The cinematographer was a foreigner. It was a unique experience. He asked me, “How would you jump? How many foot? I spoke with Farhan, ‘What is this? We are Indians. We have our own ways of working. And the cinematographer is asking strange questions.’ He wanted all the details measured. Whereas we just positioned our cameras…and danced. After that Farhan started handling the cinematographer.”
