In a recent interview, the versatile actress Genelia D'Souza shared her thoughts on the significant impact of OTT platforms in promoting fresh talent and opening doors for actors from all walks of life. The 35-year-old actress expressed her excitement about her comeback to the industry after a decade and the exciting opportunities that the digital medium has brought her way.
Genelia acknowledged the positive shift that OTT platforms have brought to the entertainment industry. In an exclusive video interview with Bollywood Hungama, she said, “I definitely think OTT has given a lot more rise to talent. I think it's that whole thing of just star star stars has gone out. I think today, good talent has been appreciated. Great talent has come out from a lot of OTT work.”
She further added, “Someone like me, who's come back after 10 years, I find a lot of interesting work like Trial Period is my first OTT film. Of course I'm a little slow because I have younger kids and I choose what I need to do and when I need to do but the kind of offers that come in and the role are coming are exciting, like exciting to see such a range from all over.”
On the professional front, the 35-year-old actress’ latest film, Trial Period, released recently on JioCinema. The film sees her share the screen with the talented actor Manav Kaul, creating an interesting on-screen chemistry. Beyond Trial Period, the actress has an exciting array of projects lined up. One highly anticipated project in her kitty is Kireeti Reddy's upcoming film, Junior.
