Rappers have gained separate spotlight and milestones, with shows being made like MTV Hustle or with sharing screen presence with hit TV shows like The Kapil Sharma Show, rappers have come a long way.
Sharing his views on this topic, Honey Singh said, “I don’t do rap much. I did it only for commercial purpose. I usually don’t make rap-influenced music; I basically did ‘Hip-Pop’ rather than ‘Hip-Hop’, just blended music with ‘Pop’. However, currently there are many amazing artists performing Hip-Hop. My personal favourite artist is Emiway Bantai. He is brilliant and he is the future. He is definitely a big BIG star”.
When asked if there is any other star apart from Emiway Bantai that he has enjoyed and would want people to follow, Honey replied, “I did not find any other artist so special. There is no originality. Everyone is just listening to Kaalo, picking up his reference, translating it along with following his culture and presenting it. But Emiway Bantai has his own originality”.
While praising Emiway Bantai’s song ‘Jump Kar’, Honey said, “Emiway is next level. He is something different, an entertainer”.
Emiway Bantai stepped into Bollywood with his rap ‘Asli Hip-Hop’ featuring in Zoya Akhtar’s directed film, Gully Boy. From struggling hard by working as a helper in Hard Rock Café for earning money to being featured in a well-known director’s film with an A-level star cast, Emiway has truly made his mark.
On the work front, Singh recently released a recreation of Rahman’s song ‘Yai Re’. Produced by Tips Music, the new track features Iulia Vantur as the female voice. He also released a song Gatividhi starring alongside Mouni Roy.
