India music industry has witnessed many memorable artists. One of them is the legendary lyricist Anand Bakshi who penned over 3300 songs in 634 films in his lifetime. On July 21, it will be his 90th birthday anniversary.
Celebrating his everlasting and impactful legacy, Bollywood Hungama and Whistling Woods International are bringing together a special tribute show that will highlight his work in Indian cinema on July 21. Some of the guests who will participate in the event include filmmaker Subhash Ghai, lyricist Irshad Kamil, Amitabh Bhattacharya, and Kumaar.
Anand Bakshi his big break to pen four songs in a Brij Mohan film titled Bhalaa Aadmi (1958), led by Bhagwan Dada. He then went onto write songs in 1965's Himalay Ki God Mein, followed by Jab Jab Phool Khile, 1967's Milan.
While he also crooned some songs, he wrote many memorable lyrics in movies including Bobby, Amar Prem (1971), Aradhana (1970), Jeene Ki Raah, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Aaye Din Bahar Ke, Aya Sawan Jhoom Ke, Seeta Aur Geeta, Sholay (1975), Dharam Veer, Nagina, Lamhe, Hum (1991), Mohra (1994), Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Pardes (1997), Heer Raanjha, Dushman (1998), Taal (1998), Mohabbatein (2000), Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001), and Yaadein (2001).
