Starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Akshaye Khanna, Drishyam 2 releases today, November 18, 2022. Ever since the advance booking windows opened, Bollywood Hungama has been sharing updates of the same. Apart from its advance booking record, we have another update on its total screen count.
Bollywood Hungama has learnt that Drishyam 2 has got 3,302 screens across India along with 858+ screens overseas. The total number of screens dedicated to the release of the film stands at 4,160 worldwide.
Coming to its advance booking report, till Thursday afternoon, it sold over 1.21 lakh tickets for the opening weekend at the national multiplex chains - PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis. Earlier, before the actual day, the advance booking window was open for bookings on October 2 and 3. Going by the numbers, the film is expected to perform well at the box office.
Also, the previous release of Ajay Devgn, Thank God, had performed poorly at the box office. However, the hype of the sequel and the success of the first instalment has managed to create a positive impact on the audience. Positive word of mouth will accelerate the number of walk-in and on-spot bookings.
Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film continues the story of Vijay Salgaonkar and his family. After a seven-year leap, the sequel sees Meera Deshmukh (played by Tabu) coming back with a new cop (played by Akshaye Khanna), reopening the case of her son Sameer. All the major characters are reprised in the sequel.
