Akshay Kumar turns a year older day. Unfortunately, it’s not celebration day for the Kumar household as the superstar lost his mother a day ago on Wednesday. Kumar's mother Aruna Bhatia was hospitalised in Mumbai a couple of days ago and passed away on Wednesday morning.
Today, Akshay Kumar took to his Twitter handle to share an adorable throwback picture with his mother on the occasion of his birthday. In the picture, Akshay can be seen getting a peck on his cheek from his mother.
Sharing the picture, Akshay wrote, "Would have never liked it this way but am sure mom is singing Happy Birthday to me from right up there! Thanks to each one of you for your condolences and wishes alike. Life goes on."

On Wednesday, while informing the demise of his mother, Akshay had posted, "She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti"
On the work front, Akshay Kumar was last seen in the film Bellbottom. The actor was shooting for Cinderella in London until a few days ago.
