"It’s time we take charge of the situation and do our bit for mother nature. Now more than ever, we need to save the green cover of our cities," her post read. This is particularly relevant at a time when we do not have a long time to undo the environmental damages, and it is already striking a number of crisis. "This #WorldWildlifeDay, I urge each one of you to step up and save the planet. It’s the best gift we can give to our future generation. Sharing few images from my trips which u exhibited, and all the proceeds were sent towards animal welfare. Do your bit, today!," she adds.

Apart from her, actor Dia Mirza also posted on Instagram, encouraging all of us to celebrate the unique biodiversity as well as educate ourselves about the plight that some of them are facing.

This year I Am A #SeaTurtle ???? The United Nations Environment Programme this World Wildlife Day, is reaching out to people around the globe by celebrating how biodiversity, in its varied forms, Sustains All Life on Earth. To raise the alarm on the plight of some of the most biodiverse places on earth, coral reefs, UNEP's #WildForLife and #GlowingGone campaigns have joined forces to raise awareness on the value of this underwater ecosystem, and the magnificent creatures that inhabit them. The color palette for the morphs is inspired by coral flourescing - the fluorescing colours of corals trying to protect themselves from ocean heatwaves - the ocean's ultimate warning sign. Find out who your kindred species is by taking this simple quiz in my Bio. Many of my friends are Orangutans ???? You can share what kindred species you are with me in the comments ???? #WorldWildLifeDay #GlowingGone #GlobalGoals #SustainingAllLife #SDGs #WildForLife #Biodiversity2020 #BeatPollution #BeatPlasticPollution @unep @unitednations @unsdgadvocates @uninindia
