Amid a severe Covid-19 outbreak, the world's biggest cities have been locked-down. Travel between countries has been restricted, and in India, various workplaces as well as public gathering places are shut as the authorities keep emphasizing on social distancing and staying indoors. In the midst of all this, actor Irrfan Khan and wife Sutapa Sikdar are also facing a personal crisis.
Irrfan's son Babil, who is presently studying films in London, is stuck there and is unable to fly back to his Mumbai home. In a social media post, a concerned Sutapa wondered why the Government of India was not taking any measures to evacuate its students stuck in London.
"Me as a mother is worried as hell but I don't understand when the Indian government has been so good with other students why it's not helping Indian students stuck in London. London is hotbed now but not worse then#wuhan. Let the students come back home my earnest #appealto#GOI," part of her post read.
Irrfan, who flew to London over a year back to avail treatments, chose to stay longer in the city and used it as an opportunity to spend more time with his two sons.
May his son return home safe, soon!
