Coronavirus outbreak: Amitabh Bachchan urges everyone to use toilets to curb the spread of the virus

"A study in the @TheLancet shows that coronavirus lingers on human excreta much longer than in respiratory samples.
Come on India, we are going to fight this ! Use your toilet: हर कोई, हर रोज़, हमेशा ।Darwaza Band toh... Beemari Band!," he wrote, sharing the video.

In the video, Bachchan urges everyone to not defecate openly and instead use their toilets, in order to curb the spread of Covid-19, which is on a rampant growth in the country right now. "The country has been fighting Coronavirus, and you all have played an important role in it. Experts from China have recently found out that Coronavirus can be alive upto several weeks in human excreta. Even if an infected person recovers from Covid-19, the virus might still be alive in his excreta. This can spread to food items such as fruits and vegetables through creatures such as bees. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that we together form a movement similar to Swachh Bharat, to fight this," he says.

The actor, who now awaits the release of Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra and Shoojit Sircar's Gulabo Sitabo, earlier shot for an awareness video with UNICEF.
