The much-awaited Hollywood film, The Fall Guy, is all set to release this Friday, May 3, in North America, India and many other territories. A lot of expectations are riding on the film due to its casting, high budget and also the strong buzz in the trade. As per reports, it is expected to open at $30 million in North America, and there’s a possibility that it might cross the $40 million mark. In India, the buzz is limited but it'll have a wide release and might take advantage of the lack of exciting releases in cinemas. Bollywood Hungama has learned that the action entertainer, starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, has an interesting surprise for moviegoers.

It turns out that the popular Hollywood actor Jason Momoa features in the film in a hilarious special appearance. It is said that he appears in a crucial sequence and his unexpected cameo will be loved by the moviegoers. The other interesting aspect is that the film starts with Ryan Gosling and director David Leitch talking to the audience about the importance of the stunt team and also asking them to keep their phones on silent. The video clip is quirky and sets the mood for the film. The end credits show the behind-the-scenes footage with a focus on the stunt doubles of the actors in the film.

Jason Momoa became worldwide popular with his performance in the cult TV show 'Game Of Thrones'. He then played the lead in Aquaman and it gave his career a boost. Last year, he was seen in an entertaining role as the antagonist in Fast X (2023). His dashing looks, long hair, acting talent and entertaining persona off-screen have made him popular among fans across the globe.

The Fall Guy is the story of a stuntman who falls for a camera operator. More than a year later, they meet in tense circumstances and this time, the stunt guy gets into deep trouble after the disappearance of the lead actor.

In an interview with a leading daily, Kareena Kapoor Khan had asserted that she prefers to be a friend to Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim rather than their mother because they already have an amazing mother who raised them. She also asserted that she loves them and is always there in case they need my advice or support from her in any matter. Apart from Kareena, other members of the family like Saba Pataudi and his sister Sara Ali Khan also cheered for him. On the work front, Ibrahim Ali Khan has been working under Dharma Productions as an assistant director. He is expected to make his big debut as the lead in Sarzameen which will also feature Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran with actor-filmmaker Kayoze Irani marking his directorial debut. Meanwhile, he is also expected to have signed a rom-com with The Archies’ fame and Sridevi-Boney Kapoor’s second daughter Khushi Kapoor in a film that is reportedly titled Naadaniyaan.

Anupam Kher's directorial, Tanvi the Great, has brought on board an exceptional team, with Oscar winner MM Keeravani composing the music for the film, Keiko Nakahara as the Director of Photography (DOP), and now renowned lyricist Kausar Munir joining the team.

Lyricist Kausar Munir is best known for her incredible frame of work and some of the memorable dialogues from films like Ek Tha Tiger, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Dear Zindagi, 83, Secret Superstar, Jubilee and more. Radhika Madan remembers Irrfan Khan's warmth on Angrezi Medium sets: “He really inspired and encouraged me”

Irrfan Khan and Radhika Madan's heartwarming bond in the 2020 film Angrezi Medium is cherished by many. The film, released just a month before Khan's passing, showcased not only their on-screen bond but also Khan's generosity towards his co-star. Recently, Madan reminisced about working with the legendary actor ahead of his death anniversary on April 29.

Radhika Madan revealed that due to Khan's ongoing health struggles, she was informed beforehand that his energy levels might be lower during filming. She shared to Hindustan Times, “I was already informed that his energies are going to be low. We finished shooting in October 2019 and in April 2020, he passed away. He shot the last scene with me.”

Madan remains deeply grateful for the experience. She highlighted Khan's decision to treat her as an equal, despite her being a newcomer to the industry. She added, “Full credit to Irrfan sir for treating me like an equal and not a newcomer, and giving me that respect as a co-star. That was the biggest motivation and it only gave me the confidence to believe in my gut and craft. He really inspired and encouraged me as a professional. I was always his student.”

Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf join Varun Dhawan – Janhvi Kapoor starrer Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari: Report

Back in February 2024, Bollywood Hungama reported that Varun Dhawan and Shashank Khaitan were teaming up for the third time after the success of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. This time, they're bringing a fresh twist with Janhvi Kapoor joining the party in Dharma Productions' upcoming film, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. The official announcement for the film dropped the same month, with an anticipated release date set for April 18th, 2025. This collaboration marks a reunion for Dhawan and Kapoor, who previously shared the screen in 2023's Bawaal.

But the casting doesn't stop there! The film boasts an exciting ensemble cast. According to a report in Pinkvilla, Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf have been roped in to play pivotal roles alongside the lead duo. The insider revealed, “It’s a pure family entertainer with romance in its backdrop, much like the kind of films that Shashank has made over the years.”

The source further elaborated that the film aligns perfectly with Dharma Productions' signature style – a vibrant celebration of love with music, larger-than-life sets, and a stellar cast. The source added, “The premise of SSKTK is very close to the kind of films that Dharma is known for as it celebrates love with colour, music, scale, and a strong star cast.”

The production is gearing up for a quick start with filming set to commence within two weeks. The initial schedule will kick off in Mumbai, followed by a picturesque shoot in Rajasthan. International locations might also be incorporated. Interestingly, the makers intend to wrap up filming by the end of 2024.

Shashank Khaitan's last directorial venture was Govinda Naam Mera, a Disney+ Hotstar release starring Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, and Kiara Advani.

Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan juggling the upcoming masala action film Baby John directed by Atlee Kumar and Kalees, slated for release on May 31st, 2024. This will be followed by David Dhawan's comedy film later this year.

Janhvi Kapoor, on the other hand, has a packed schedule too. Her upcoming projects include the pan-India films Devara: Part 1 with Jr. NTR and the period saga Karna with Suriya. Additionally, she has Karan Johar's Mr and Mrs Mahi and Junglee Pictures' Ulajh in the pipeline. The high-octane spy thriller War 2 stars Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, adding to the already established YRF Spy Universe that includes hits like the Tiger franchise, Pathaan, and the first War film in 2019. Interestingly, Alia will also join the spy universe with a standalone project.

On the other hand, Brahmastra, Ayan's previous directorial, was a supernatural fantasy featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Backed by Dharma Productions, it marked the first part of a trilogy. Filming for Brahmastra: Part 2 - Dev is expected to begin after Ayan wraps up War 2.

Kapoor has Stree 2, the much-anticipated sequel to the 2018 horror-comedy Stree, lined up for release this year. The source further adds, “Stree 2 is one of the year’s most-awaited films. Going forward, Shraddha wants to carefully select her projects, choosing ones that evoke a similar kind of buzz. She also doesn’t want long gaps between her films.”

Actor Sahil Khan gets arrested by Mumbai cyber cell in connection to the Mahadev Betting App

Best known for films like Style and Excuse Me, actor Sahil Khan, who is now an influencer, has been arrested by the Mumbai Police in connection with the Mahadev betting app case. The arrest was made by the Mumbai cyber cell’s Special Investigating Team (SIT) in Chhattisgarh after the court rejected the pre-arrest bail plea, followed by asserting that Khan is the co-owner of the app.

Previously, the SIT had summoned Sahil and three others for questioning in December 2023, but he failed to appear. Followed by that, he applied for a pre-arrest bail which has now been rejected by the Bombay High Court. Despite several allegations were made against the Style actor in regards to the app, Sahil denied any direct involvement with the betting platform and continued to assert that he was merely a brand promoter endorsing The Lion Book brand under contract with M/s. Isports247. However, the police has decided to stick with their allegations that he was a co-owner of the app, following which he is being brought to Mumbai via Raipur and is expected to be produced before the court this afternoon.

Meanwhile, Sahil has maintained that he signed a contract with the company for 24 months, for posting promotional videos on his social media under a fixed remuneration of Rs. 3 lakhs which will be paid monthly. After the actor gave his statement about being a brand promoter, he applied for a pre-bail plea which was, however, dismissed by the court, as they cited his alleged direct involvement in the illegal operation.

Earlier In 2023, the crime branch, investigating the Mahadev betting app case, had summoned Sahil Khan and three others to record their statements on December 15. However, Sahil failed to cooperate but remained active on social media, posting photos and videos, further drawing flak for his non-compliant behaviour.

On the work front, while Sahil Khan has stayed away from films, he kicked off his entrepreneurial fitness venture Divine Nutrition, which offers fitness supplements.

Salman Khan-Firing Case: Mumbai police charges suspects under MCOCA, reveals reports

The firing incident at Galaxy Apartment has been undergoing significant developments lately. Initially, the Mumbai police issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi after he is accused of being the man behind the recent attack on Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. Now, recent reports reveal that the authorities have invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) in connection with the incident.

Following the firing incident outside his apartment in Mumbai, multiple investigative teams have been actively pursuing leads. After earlier reports suggested the Mumbai police have named two suspects Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta, recently two alleged arms suppliers were identified as Sonu Subhash Chander and Anuj Thapan, in connection to the case. As per reports from ANI, all of them have been charged under MCOCA. Officers were quoted in the recent report where they confirmed the developments in the case and added, “All accused have been booked under Sections 3(1)(2), 3(1)(3), and 3(1)(4) of MCOCA,”.

Subsequently, after Anmol Bishnoi purportedly claimed responsibility for the shooting in a Facebook post, law enforcement authorities issued another Look Out Circular (LOC) against him. Furthermore, with the gathering of substantial evidence, Lawrence Bishnoi has been designated as the primary suspect in the case, despite his imprisonment.

Following the arrest of the accused, law enforcement authorities have also made a few other breakthroughs in the investigation which includes discovering a firearm and live cartridges in the Tapi River in Gujarat, along with footprints of one of the suspects, Vicky, which were also traced during their attempt to flee to Bhuj, Gujarat.

Besides these, the Delhi Crime Branch officials also reportedly conducted a three-hour long interrogation of Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta with their custody being extended from April 25 to April 29. Meanwhile, as per reports from ANI, the Esplanade Court in Mumbai has granted Mumbai Crime Branch custody of both arms suppliers until April 30.

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has made a grand entrance in Kolkata, flanked by heavy security measures, ahead of the Kolkata Knight Riders' highly anticipated match against the Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Scheduled to take place at the iconic Eden Gardens on Friday evening, the match is already buzzing with excitement. As the co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders, Shah Rukh Khan's presence always adds fervor to the atmosphere.

According to a story posted online by Boxoffice Worldwide, the team intends to film heavy action scenes in London. The film's shoot will begin as early as June. The portal also revealed that their production crew has "ambitious plans," with a focus on recording high-octane action scenes that would be a big component of the tale. King is expected to give a 'thrilling cinematic experience, complete with a high-octane chase scenario.'

This announcement comes just after various sources indicated that SRK would portray a grey-skinned figure similar to Don. Suhana Khan, on the other hand, is receiving extensive training in order to carry out the film's action parts. According to reports, Gauri Khan and Siddharth Anand are producing the film, which has a budget of more than Rs 200 crore. At the time of writing, News18 was unable to corroborate the accusations.

Earlier, according to a report in Pinkvilla, it was revealed that “Siddharth Anand and Sujoy Ghosh have been constantly in touch with Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan with multiple meetings from October 2023 to February 2024. Sujoy is meticulously working on the script with Sid and SRK. Designing world-class action sequences rests fully on Siddharth.”

Speaking about the film’s plot, a source added, “The flavour of action in King will be very different from what SRK has done in Pathaan and Jawan. This one would be sleek, with a lot of chase sequences. However, the core plot is emotional and driven by the story. It has lots of twists and turns, which is the reason why Sujoy has been bestowed with the responsibility of direction.”

Lara Dutta claims she has no interest in playing characters younger than her true age, unlike certain male performers

Lara Dutta understands that playing a 40-year-old woman in Bollywood is a rare opportunity for female actresses. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Lara was asked about how men frequently play characters decades younger than their true age, but she stated that she has no desire in doing so.

“I think it's great (women getting to play their own age). Yeah. And I hope it happens more. Why? Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor recently opened up about her journey of adjusting to the changes that occurred after the birth of her son Vaayu. Known for her confident and self-assured demeanor, Sonam shared that while she has always embraced herself for who she is, the experience of gaining 32 kilos post-childbirth was quite traumatising for her.

On the podcast Fashionably Pernia, the actor candidly discussed the changes she made in her fashion choices after giving birth. Sonam said, Sonam said, “I gained 32 kilos. Honestly, initially I was traumastised. You are so obsessed with your baby, you are really not thinking about working out, eating right. It took me a year and a half. I took it really slow, you have to be slow because you have to adjust to the new you.”

Exhibitors FUME as prominent critic and scores of influencers watch Monkey Man on pirated copies and spread the word about it: “These are PARASITES that need to be amputated”

Bollywood Hungama has been consistently reporting about the release schedule of Dev Patel’s acclaimed film Monkey Man in India. Initially scheduled for a release on April 19, it was pushed due to delay in getting a clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Meanwhile, reports came in that Monkey Man has been banned in the country. Bollywood Hungama debunked this rumour last week and added that the CBFC members are yet to see the film.

Monkey Man had a release in most markets on April 5 and earlier this week, it was made available on Amazon Prime Video in international markets on rent. As expected, high quality, pirated prints flooded the internet following the rental release. As per reports, Warner Bros and Universal Pictures, the local distributors of the film, tried their best to pull down links. X, formerly, Twitter, even sent copyright violation notices to those who shared the Google Drive link of the film.

But the damage is down. Monkey Man is freely available on illegal film websites and on the app Telegram. However, what has shocked the industry and exhibitors is that a prominent critic reviewed the film on a popular website. The critic also tweeted that he saw the film neither in cinemas or streaming but at a ‘secret third place’. A few websites have collated tweets of people who saw the film on pirated websites. Some prominent people on X with massive following have also recommended Monkey Man big time, adding that it has zero chance of releasing in India and hence, one must watch it ‘you know where’.

A source from the exhibition sector told Bollywood Hungama, “It is clear that these people didn’t fly down to Dubai or Bangkok to catch Monkey Man. They saw it illegally. There’s a lot of curiosity surrounding the film in India, especially with reports that it is very controversial. People want to know that ‘aisa kya hai film mein?’. It’s a case of forbidden fruit.”

A duty manager sighed, “People fear that it’ll never get a release in India. Hence, they have started watching it on torrent. This seemed like a film that would have pulled audience to the cinemas in the otherwise dry month of May. Now, we have lost hope. What’s saddening is apne log supporting piracy openly.”

Another exhibitor, meanwhile, also put the blame on the studio, “Firstly, they announced April 19 as the release date when it released worldwide on April 5. On top of that, they knew that the film has controversial content. They should have got the censor done in advance. I am sure they also knew that in three weeks, Monkey Man will be out on PVOD, from where pirated links will emerge. Hence, it’s a case of bad planning and we are going to suffer because there’s hardly anything exciting to play in cinemas. I doubt Monkey Man will now get the kind of footfalls it might have possibly got in April.”

When asked if it is fair on the part of critics and prominent industry members to watch Monkey Man and recommend it to their followers, film exhibitor and distributor Akshaye Rathi minced no words, “I don’t know whether it is fair or unfair. But what I do know is that as per the Indian laws, it is a criminal offence. If the film has been consumed through a pirated platform, then the authorities and law enforcement agencies need to take a note of it. Whatever are the charges and the penalties applicable for the consumption of piracy, need to be levied on them. We are in an industry where crores of rupees and jobs are lost due to piracy. And if people who are in the entertainment or media ecosystem are going to consume films on piracy and propagate it, then pardon my language, but these are parasites that need to be amputated.”

Meanwhile, as per sources, Monkey Man’s censor process is still on and hence, it’s still not clear when the film will release in India. An industry insider chose to be optimistic, “I haven’t seen the film but from what I heard, Monkey Man is meant for the big screen. So, people might still come in big numbers to catch the film.”

Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan confirmed to reunite after 14 years for a horror fantasy film

Filmmaker Priyadarshan has confirmed that he is reuniting with Akshay Kumar after 14 years. The duo had worked together on Hera Pheri and Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The filmmaker said that they will be working on a horror fantasy film with elements of humour. The project will be backed by Ektaa R Kapoor.

Priyadarshan told Hindustan Times, “Now that I am done with my docu-series on the Ram Mandir’s history, my most important film on which I am beginning work is the one with Akshay, produced by Ekta Kapoor. It is a horror fantasy with humour.”

When asked if it's like Bhool Bhulaiyaa, the filmmaker said, “That was a psychological thriller, but this one will be fantasy, in the backdrop of black magic, the oldest superstition of India. It is always a pleasure collaborating with Akshay. From our first film to this one, it has always turned out well with him, he handles the emotions so well. I was waiting for a good subject to get back with him, and this one I feel will be that.”
